HOW  TO  FOCUS  ON  A  RESEARCH  PROJECT?

At  the  beginning  of  a  research  project,  many  things  about  your  project  will  seem  unclear-  especially  if  you’ve  not  written  many  research  papers.  Help  yourself  focus  your  project  by  writing  following  exercise:-

MY  GENERAL  SUBJECT  AREA:   Literature.

MY  SPECIFIC  RESEARCH  AREA:    Literature  of  Diaspora.

MY  KEY  QUESTION:  Gender,  Question  of  identity  and  migration.

MY  PURPOSES  (to  report,  explain,  evaluate,  or  persuade):   To  explain  how  gender   effects  the  question  of  identity  among  the  migrants.

MY  TENTATIVE  THESIS  (if  possible):  How  gender  issues  have  raised  the  question  of  identity  in  the  migrant  communities/people.

WHAT  WORDS  IN  MY  TOPIC,  QUESTION  OR  THESIS  ARE  VAGUE  OR  UNCLEAR?    Gender,  identity  and  migration.

WHAT  OPPOSING  OPINIONS  OR QUESTIONS  COULD  BE  OFFERED  IN  RESPONSE  TO  MY  THESIS? 

DO  MY  STATED  PURPOSES   FIT  THE  LANGUAGE  OF  MY  QUESTIONS  OR  THESIS?
