Sample Research Methodology



 

 

Research Methodology: Two sample topics are taken up and the ways of discussing the population, the sample, the tools, etc. are given below:

Topic 1: Preparation of Comprehension tasks for teaching Short Stories at Graduate Level.

 

Population: This study does not cover the whole community of  M.A. students in Gujarat but this is particularly pointed out the First Year M.A. (ELT) students of H. M. Patel Institute of English Training and Research.

Sample: The sample will consist of the students of First Year M.A. (ELT),  Vallabh Vidyanagar.

Preparation of Tools: The Researcher will prepare feedback sheets to get the feedback from the students as well as experts. 

Method of Data collection: Data will be collected from the expert’s opinions as well as student’s feedback.

Analysis and Interpretation of Data: The data will be analysed qualitatively and quantitatively.

Research Design: The Researcher will prepare the materials and try them out to find out the problems of the learners during the treatment and revise them to improve their effectiveness.

 

Topic 2: Preparation and Validation of Technology Aided Language Learning Materials to teach Functional English at Secondary Level.

 

Population:  All the functions of English language.

The students of class VIII, studying English as second Language in Gujarat.

Sample:       The functions will be selected after referring to the syllabus of VIII STD.

The feedback of selected experts and students will be taken.

Preparation of Tools:   For this study, materials will be prepared. Questionnaires  will be used to obtain feedback from experts and students.

Preparation of Materials: Computer based materials will be prepared for functional English.

Audio-video materials will be selected and exercises will be  prepared.

 

Method of Data Collection: Materials will be tried out for validation and revision purposes. Opinion of experts will be collected.

Analysis and Interpretation: The data will be tabulated through opinion of experts and feedback of students.

Frequency counts concepts and categories will be worked out.

 

Research Design: 

The functions will be selected from Class VIII syllabus.

 

Technology Aids will be prepared for selected functions.

 

Materials will be given to experts to get their opinion.

 

Materials will be tried out.

 

Materials will be revised according to feedback obtained from students and experts.
